This can be stated as the unique album ever appeared on to the canvass of Telugu film industry. It’s an album drenched in blood but that doesn’t mean it’s encouraging violence and bloodshed. While 4 songs wave the flag of bloodshed, a single song goes above all and chants the mantra of peace. And the most interesting part is that peace song was sung by Ram Gopal Varma. It’s the first time RGV emerges as play back singer. And he proved not less than any professional singer. Let us walk in to the songs built on axes, knives, machetes and bullets along with the sharp words of lyricist Kaluva Sai. Four music directors have worked for this album. And another aspect to be underlined there are about 3 title songs in the album. One song is on the lines of socialism. A song is based on vedic chants and some message in Telugu. Each one carries its own weight.
Gundello Ubikubiki:
‘Gundello Ubikubiki pongina lava prahamu raa….’ is the opening line that raises the hair. The song explains the violence in the order of Rayalaseema Factionism. It’s the song of mercenary. Cutting the throats of fellow humans is the religion that’s elucidated here. Each word is like a smack of axe. The song is indirectly conveying what is shown in Rakta Charitra. It’s the first number in the album and aptly placed.
Akkada Ikkada:
It’s haunting. It’s hunting. It’s hitting every segment of nerves. Music is so well organized and orchestration scores big score here. The song sounds to be chasing the listeners. And the listeners sometimes may get hypnotized to chase someone. It’s infectious song. So keep senses in control and listen. Don’t get carried away by the violent ignitions in lyrics.
Rakta Sikta Varnamaina:
This is another title song that speaks about the blood shed in the history of Rayalaseema. It says firmly that power craving is the main reason for drenching the soils of past with blood. It sounds like a horror song. But the song appears to be weekly orchestrated. Especially in opening lines it’s sounding to be with abrupt breaks and sudden cuts disturbing the feel. But still it’s a song worth listening for the lyrics. It portrays the fear of death in faction afflicted lives.
Dabbunnodaa:
This is the weak song in entire album. It is sure that listeners skip this song as it’s disturbing the flow and mood that’s bestowed by first three songs. It’s a song on wealthy people with some socialistic idea.
Champaraa:
This can be many listeners’ favorite for the tune and orchestration. This song is more dangerous than ‘akkada ikkada’. The song directly says to kill whoever comes against in the way. The renditions of singers are also haunting.
Kathulatho Saavaasam:
This is the bottom-line of entire album. It’s sung by Ram Gopal Varma. I feel it is needed to chant this song that erodes the blood stains like a cool cascade. Hence I’m keying here the complete lyric.
Kathulatho saavasam- Netthutitho samaaptam
Kakshala ee samaram- Kaatikiraa payanam
Ee mulla daarullo adugesinaa…migiledhi soonyam nijam ||kaththulatho||
Budhdam saranam gachchaami-dharmama saranam gachchaami-sangham saranam gachchaami
Viluvaina bathuku vela lenidaithe maranaanni poojincharaa
Pudutoone evadoo paga vaadu kaadu, poyinodu koodaa raa
Ee nadumuna nuvvu vidhi aata lona paavu ayithey odevuraa || kaththulatho||
Paga annadepudu yemichce nestham-nastaanne migilinchu raa
Kshana kaalamaina manassaanthi leni- bathukentha baruvavunu raa
Bathikenduke ee bathukundani chachchaakaa telisemi raa.. |kaththulatho||
Just listen to this song and you will understand what is intended to show in this movie. The movie has a message and that is through this song.
Bottom-Line: Worth Listening |
